Smart to start right off with the offense—you can get a bit louder, but good speed and quality—you need one other thing for the link turn to work (ux)—get some analytical args out there as well—return to the original order, the structure of first refutation is what you want to use—your job in following speeches is to defend and expand on the argments that you have already made, making sure you explain why they are good, still valid, etc.
Parli Practice--August 2nd
Karthik—what is the point of definitions in general—don’t overdescribe your order—don’t call people judge—permutation!!!!!!!—solvency deficit, whats the impact to their education not being good—
Practice Debate Wednesday 8/5—Baxter
Karthik—good arg selection, but still repetitive and could push a bit faster too—they talk about how…don’t countdown to start the speech—need to get to the k with wayyyyy more time—PERM AD SOLVENCY DEFICIT—the beginning was trash talking, which is nice, but with no content, do it for real—your extending argument needs explanation of what they mean and why they matter—2ar needs structure badly
Practice Debate—Thursday 8/6—Baxter
Karthik—ppush yourself a little biit more in the 2nc, speedwise, at least with some urgency—don’t be repetitive, wiki leaks is online etc., explain the argument once the whole way through then go on—make sure all your arguments are fully impacted, sometimes this is good, sometimes its generic—this is especially true with your evidence, which you can get just as much out of while pushing the speed a bit—start a bit more meta level, big picture—no underviews! You should get into more examples and impact comparison and pull more warrants out of your evidence--
